Oops, I forgot that blog voices is down. Just e-mail me your guesses for the 9 things instead.
I just watched a really cool show on the Discovery Channel about this guy who was blind from the age of 3-43, and got a surgery that gave him partial vision. It was weird to see how much we take for granted. Here is a man with a college degree, who works on computers for a living developing software to help the blind, and yet he has to think hard to figure out what a picture of a giraffe is, and has trouble recognizing letters. When the interviewer points to cans of Coke, and asks him if they are fruit, he isn't sure. He got to see his wife and children for the first time, and his own reflection in the mirror for the first time in 40 years. It was so odd....
Oh, hell. I'll do it too.

9 things about me that are true and one that isnt.

I've eaten a chocolate covered ant.

I was only in first grade for about a month before moving to second.

I believe that Delaware does not exist.

I have an annual pass to Walt Disney World.

I accidentally broke my mother's toe when I was 4.

I have dissected a cat, rat, earthworm, crawfish, bird, frog, fetal pig, and countless other things.

I was spiderman for halloween when I was 4.

I was a girl scout for two years.

I worked in two ice cream places before I was 18.

Okay, now click that little comment button and guess which is false :)

Other random things..

I will die happy if Camel Roman Riding makes it to the Olympics.

I have a shark that is over 6 years old. That makes him older than my horse.

I can recite shakespeare almost as well as I can recite Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail.

I think Nick Carter is the most asthetically perfect human ever.

I cant wait to go to Simucon, damnit.
Redesign. It is the most insomniating word in the english language. I just can't decide what I want to do with this site. Everyone is redesigning these days, and I feel left in the dust. Rabi has changed her site completly, and Matt's is almost painfully simple in design now. I've been playing with some designs, but none of them feel right yet.

My posts seem to be less frequent, and even less worthwhile these days... I think I've fallen into routine again. I hate routine.. it overtakes me and puts me on autopilot where I stop feeling and experiencing, and just do. I get up, do this, do that, run errands, go to work, go through the day, come home. I need to break out of the rut, and that break is coming in just 9 days. A little over a week, and I'll be there, with all of you great people. In fact, I got my plane tickets tonight. Priceline decided to be very nice, and even give me the times I was hoping for. The Gods of Internet Travel are smiling upon me today.

Yes, I know, my writing level has fallen to that of a third grader. I'm pulling out some old writing exercises, and deciding up on a good book to read. What shall it be, Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury, or Fitzgerald and This Side of Paradise. I've never read either, I'm such a literary slacker.

I think that the more often I write, the easier it is for me to find things to write about. Perhaps when I know I'll need something to write about later on, I take better mental notes about things that I notice, rather than just smiling and letting them pass by. Perhaps I let far too much pass by.

I noticed today that I'm really horrible with names. We watched a video at our meeting where a lady was saying that Mary Kay wrote her daughter a note saying something along the lines of "It was nice to meet you, Gina, and your hamster Fred". The lady was astounded that such a busy woman who meets so many people would remember a little detail like the name of her child's pet, and it was then that it occoured to me that I didn't even remember the name of the lady sitting right next to me, even though she had told me less than an hour before. I think I tune out too much. What have I been missing?

And yes, most of this was mindless rambling, but I decided I needed to write for at least 5 minutes, even if it was pointless. So here you have 5 minutes of my random thoughts, very late on a Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning.

Today I remembered what it is like to laugh so long and hard that your stomach aches. I adore that! I'm only sad that I only remember one of the reasons for laughing

And you know, I seem to be getting HTML Lazy these days. I almost put that in parentheses instead of a footnote. What is the world coming to?

Well, I gave in. I'm going. Im excited.

When did I become a workaholic? I just dont feel right if I'm not doing something productive anymore. Strange....

Quote of the day: "I'm in shape- round is a shape!"-Debbie

Song of the day: "Butterfly", by Crazy Town.. just because work isn't the same anymore without JJ, Jake, and Chad

Okay, please vote. Should I redesign my blog again? I'm just not happy with the sunshine design anymore. Let me know what you think, since you all look at the actual design a lot more often than I do.
Once again, there is a bunny in my bathroom. Things really do go full circle, dont they? Tara's kids were so cute.. Tiffany (Tara's Tiffany, not Tiff-Bob) said "Aww, I dont think the bunny is happy because her foot is dirty. Do you have bunny soap? Oh, I forgot you just have a bunny, so you DO have bunny soap!" I love the reasoning of a 5-year old :)

I got an email from Nate today, which totally made my day.

I really almost wish I were in school at times.. I almost miss being forced to study things. I guess that opened me to learning things I would otherwise know nothing about. I really need to get back to that darn pathology unit. Really, I will. Eventually. Okay, tonight. Maybe. And darn.. what am I going to wear to my meeting tomorrow?

I really have been writing like a 10-year old lately, haven't I? Sorry, I'm quite out of practice at writing anything these days. I promise I still have a real vocabulary somewhere, and I do remember poetic devices and such. They're just... too lazy? Who knows.

Quote of the Day-"Any more trips planned? (I know, you just got back...but it's never too early to plan the next one, eh?) "-- in an email from Nate, who has the exact same Disney World philosophy as me. I laughed so hard, just because it was good to know I'm not the only one :)

Okay, this really confuses me.

And I really want this sofa, but its almost $7500! Gheez!!! Anyone want to make me a cheap immitation??

Favorite Misspellings of the Day:

Damnplitical- Kelly's intention of spelling damn political. Its now a common word in conversations.

Enja- What you now have to put in to Napster to find Enya.

Soundtrack of the Day: Big River Soundtrack- Original Broadway Cast :) Especially "Worlds Apart", and "Muddy Water", even though Napster refuses to let me have the latter.

Today is not my day. Would you like to know why? I knew you would!

1) I got up EARLY to set up the rabbit cage, because I'm going to bunny-sit my friend's rabbit for a while because she is in the process of moving. She told me last night to meet her at dixie at 11:30, so I show up at 11:29 and wait... its pouring rain so I dont dare leave my truck.. and wait...and WAIT until 12:20, at which time I'm going to be late for the Mary Kay class im doing today, so I leave to go home, only to....

2) Get an IM from the friend I'm doing the class for who wants to cancel. So, I am now off today with NOTHING to do.. AND because I took today off instead of tomorrow, I have to miss tomorrow's meeting.

3) While I was waiting for that hour at work, a friend parked next to me, and hit my truck with his car door. He said it didnt hurt it, but I just looked, and there IS a little dent. Grr.

4) Went to the video store to get some movies to make my day better, and some woman grabbed the last copy of the one I wanted right as I got to the shelf.
Well, it seems im getting a temporary rabbit today. My friend Tara is in the process of moving, so I'm bunny-sitting. It will be nice to have another creature around, even if it is just for a while.

And, in current events, I just nearly sliced off a finger while cutting up an apple. And you people ask why I dont cook??

"And climb high to the highest rung, to shake fists at the sky"-Reasons Why, Nickel Creek

Thursday, May 17, 2001

I wanted to post yesterday, but there just weren't words. There still aren't today. All I can say is I can't believe she is gone.

Wednesday, May 16, 2001

Oh...My...Gosh.... I am in charge at work tomorrow. My manager will be out on his boat in the lake, my assistant manager will be out of town. Its all me. The same girl who completly mangled her finger on the tape blade- very clearly marked "Caution: Blade is sharp" and illustrated with a picture of a bleeding finger. It is now covered in a Cinderella Band-Aid. Yes, this is the girl they leave in charge. I'm screwed.

My hand hurts, because I've been trying to type up my vacation trip report. Oh, the typing.

Today at work was very stressful. The printer decided to turn everything pink. Very pink. All was not good.

Tuesday, May 15, 2001

You know, it really is sad, but I would probably shell out $2000 for this too, if they had another one. Sad, yes.

Brian: "Oh my gosh, how could you spend 8 days at Disney World"

Me: "I'm going back in December"

Brian: "Oh, that answers it"

I just have not had the energy to write lately. Its not that I haven't had anything to write about, because i have.. I keep scribbling down notes of things to tell you, but then when the time comes around, I just cant bring myself to face this blank screen. It laughs at me.

Yesterday at work my right and left brain were at war as I switched back and forth between running negatives thorugh the printer and processing film, to reading a book entitled "Immortal Poems". It waw confusing, to say the least.

And here I am, out of steam again. Maybe I'll add more later.

Pardon my lack of blogging lately... I haven't been all here at all.

Last night I had a very odd dream that I was applying to work at Disney's Haunted Mansion, which is not odd, because I do want to work there, but the odd thing was that I was planning on keeping my job here as well. Oh, and the fact that they were interviewing me somewhere in the middle of the ride. I suppose my subconscious has never heard of offices! I also had one of those darn dreaming-in-text dreams last night. I really dont remember what that one was about, but why do I have this sneaking suspicion it was lottery tickets?

What else is there to write/ I'm feeling kind of empty today. There just aren't enough hours in the day.

Have I told you guys lately how much I love you all???

Candi, where would I be without your enthusiasm?? You're my favorite of the candi canes!!!!!!!!!!
Action Jackson, who taucht me that its always appropriate to drape yourself seductively across whatever is around, and that gold is the universal color.
Tara, my Taraness, who knows *almost* as much obscure disney trivia as I, and has been through so much of the same things.
Kelly, who slaps me upside the head if I dont write, and who is so full of ideas. And who I think wins the current award for oddest late-night conversations. And for whom I have so much respect for all she does.
Rat, the best darn Scooby-loving gay rat I know. Without Rat, I would never have listened to AM radio at 5 in the morning, or have words like "Scrod" in my vocabulary. And frankly, life would be a lot more dull.
Jim, who is the best listener I know, and who I can talk to in unintelligable speech and he still understands. And who has put up with me through all the stupid things I've done through the years. And, of course, everyone needs a good bartender for a friend!
Katie M. who has the most creative screennames, and who probably knows the most obscure facts about me. And she let me ride her favorite horse, which is a very cool thing to do!
Katie T. who remembers the swiss cheese plant, and how very important out-clapping other people really is.
Emily, Ashlee, Brian, Andrea, Lauren, and all you other guys..

There's nothing like some time away from everything to make you realize a lot of things. Its time for some changes.

"I've got to hide somewhere to find myself again"-
From the musical Big River
im Baaaaaaaackkkkk!!! A million thanks to my dear Kelly for keeping my blog from collecting dust while I was gone. So, yes, its 3am, and i really just want to collapse into bed, but there is much to be done. I feel so far behind on everything! However, I had a wonderful time, and I promise to scan pictures as soon as I get them developed (Which would obviously be as soon as I can get my little hands on a printer. I actually miss printing). And ill write up a nice little report of my trip. In very sad news, Betta Bob, my betta died today :( I got home tonight and his water was really disgusting, and he was dead. I guess when I told dad to feed him while I was gone, I should have also mentioned that it would be a good idea to change the water when it turned dark brown. :(

Ben and Sarah left this morning... and it was rather sad to see them go. We had an amazing time, though ... and I'm hoping it won't be too long before I get to see them again. :)

But for now, I need some rest.

And isn't it funny that Crystal went to Florida just as Ben and Sarah left to drive to Cali? Well... I think so.

The Kelster

Uhm, yeah. I forgot to sign that last post.

That was me, you know.

Eep, I didn't post last night. For shame, for shame. But really -- I've been damn busy. Besides this being the last month of school, I have had this crazy urge to completely revamp my entire house.

Never good on the wallet or the sleeping habbits.

But I now have the best organized bathroom on eath. Go me, or something.

In other really exciting news -- Ben and Sarah will be here tomorrow!!!!! Yeah, you don't know them, but I'm hyped.

Soo, if I don't post much after tomorrow, sorry Crystal -- but I've got people to entertain!

Disney Craziness of the Day: Do they even have this ride in Disney World?

Tuesday, May 01, 2001

Okay, I really had planned to post earlier today, but obviously -- that just isn't happening.

Even though some of us can take time off to go party in other states whenever we want to, I still have work to do. Darn it all.

So I just finished reading this book, and I have to say, it's a must have for any educator or parent out there. Check it out. I insist.

Uhm, and the Disney featurette of the day? Go see for yourself.

I miss Crystal! She is always here at night (late, usually!) for me to bounce ideas off of. and she makes me post on my own blog... which, I should really do now.

Until next time, me.
