Slice!

A couple of weeks ago, I was sent the slice™ Safety Cutter - Great for couponers to try out and review. I am not much of a couponer, but I do often cut things out from magazines for inspiration boards or just to reference later, so I thought this might come in handy.

The things I like? Number one is probably the safety factor. I love that I can leave this sitting out and not worry about the cats getting cut on it, since they will play with almost anything. The blade is a teeny tiny ceramic dot, and I can press it up against my finger without betting hurt. That also means you can toss it in your purse without worrying about it tearing up the inside or attacking your fingers if you reach in. I also like that you don't have to sharpen it, and the cutter is actually magnetic, so you can stick it to the fridge in between uses.

What don't I like? The only problems I have found so far is that when cutting magazine pages, it will sometimes work great one direction, but slightly less well in another. For example, cutting horizontally will work perfectly, but going vertical will get a little jagged. Also, since the blade is so tiny, it can be harder to cut exactly where I want than if I was using an xacto knife where I can see the blade.

Overall, I really like having it around. I have used it quite a bit so far, both for cutting things from magazines and opening packages, and so far I'm a fan.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
