Sushi for cats and other awesomeness- Another Review!

Yo, fellow crazy cat ladies!  This post is for you!

If you've been around for a while, you might remember when I did a review of! They were lovely enough to let me do another review, so I had a blast picking out what to order! (No, seriously, I think I drove my friend Katie nuts with all of my exclamations over IM about the cute cat food and treats.)

First, they've changed their name! Instead of MrChewy, it's now just Easy enough to remember! They have over 140 brands, which I took as an opportunity to check out a few I don't have access to in this little town. One thing that I didn't realize when I ordered is that in addition to cat and dog food, treats, litter and health, they now carry a selection of toys, too!  I wish I'd noticed earlier, I would have totally picked up these KONG Crinkle fish toys for the kittens!

In other news, they now have a Pinterest account! It's full of seriously cute dog and cat pics, LOL cats, fun infographics, and more!

I ended up ordering 3 different brands of wet food, a bag of dry food, and a bag of treats.

My order arrived ABSURDLY fast. I think I ordered on a Monday, and it was at my doorstep on Wednesday! Shipping is free on orders $49+, and apparently it is super fast shipping! Score!  Here's what I ended up with this time:
Merrick Gourmet Entrees Cat Canned Food Variety Pack
Merrick Gourmet Entrees Cat Canned Food Variety Pack- $9.99 for an 8-pack
I'd never seen this food before, but I am familiar with the Before Grain canned foods that Merrick also makes. This is a variety pack (duh) with 8 different flavors: California Roll, Cowboy Cookout, Grammy's Pot Pie, Southern Delight, Surf and Turf, Thanksgiving Day Dinner, Turducken, and New England Boil. I'm a sucker for interesting flavor names, so these were right up my alley! Turducken is exactly what you think- turkey, duck and chicken! Southern Delight includes chicken, catfish and crawfish with brown rice and veggies.
Merrick California Roll Canned Cat Food
I thought "California Roll" was the most creative- salmon, tuna, crab, brown rice and veggies. Of course, once you open it, it looks noooothing like sushi:

But the cats didn't seem to mind that at ALL!

The next wet food I tried is this variety pack from BFF!

I love variety packs, especially for brands I'm not that familiar with since you can try several different flavors! If you remember my last review, you may recall that we tried the BFF in the Tuna and Tilapia Twosome flavor.  The variety pack wasn't available yet back then, so I was excited to see it this time around! The flavors in this pack are Tuna Too Cool, Tuna & Pumpkin Valentine, Tuna & Salmon Soulmates, and Tun & Chicken 4EVA. You can either get a 8-pack of larger cans (2 of each flavor) or a 12-pack of smaller cans (3 of each). The only thing I'd change is to add more variety! carries 8 different kinds of BFF, so I know at least that many exist, so I'd love to see an 8-pack with one of each!

I have to admit, my favorite thing about this brand is the adorable packaging!

BFF Tuna and Salmon Soulmates Canned Cat Food
Do they know how to market to cat ladies like myself or what? How cute is that??

The tuna and pumpkin variety

We did have weird incident with this food. When the cats tried the Tuna and Chicken 4EVA variety, two of them threw it up instantly. (Ewww.) The other cats devoured it. I'm not sure if we got a bad can, or if trying too many new foods in one week was just too much for their digestions or what. We didn't have any problems with any of the other varieties, so I'm still giving this variety pack a thumbs-up. They especially seemed to like the tuna and pumpkin!

Next, we have what I like to refer to as "kitty crack":

Greenies Feline SmartBites Digestive Care Salmon Flavor Cat Treats

These treats, you guys. They are apparently the greatest thing my cat Jasper has ever had in his life, because he is OBSESSED with them. The other cats like them well enough, but Jasper is a ginormous addict. I'm pretty sure he dreams about them. I'm sure that if I left the bag where he could get to it, he'd eat the whole thing, possibly including the bag itself.

I originally picked up a bag of these at the pet store around a month ago because Jasper was having some delightful "I'm going to throw up everywhere, mommy!" issues. I wanted to see if the pet store would have anything to settle a kitty stomach before I shelled out the big bucks for a trip to the vet. While there is apparently no kitty version of Pepto Bismol, I did find these and figured it was worth a shot! The day I started giving them to Jasper, the vomiting stopped. Now, I'm obviously not a vet, and his stomach problems clearing up could have nothing to do with the treats, and you shouldn't take your cat health advice from a blog, and blah blah blah. But still, these seemed to make his stomach much happier, and he flippin' LOVES them. All the package says is that they have ingredients that help maintain a healthy digestive tract and metabolism- there's not much in the way of explanation.

One thing on my wish list for the next time I get to order from is this bag of treats:
Pet Naturals of Vermont Smelly Cat Chews

The info claims it makes the litter box less smelly and... um... reduces cat farts. Let me just tell you- if this is true, I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE. Remember back when Toey got a nasty parasite? Most of the cats have had it to a lesser extent since then (it's passed among cats, and you can't really do anything to prevent it, you just have to sort of wait it out), and let's just say it has made the litter box UNPLEASANT. The only thing that kept me from ordering them this time was the price tag ($8.99 for 45 treats. Most cat treats of a similar size are $2-4). I kind of regret not getting them now, though, because my curiosity is driving me nuts! If you've ever tried these, I'd love to hear what you thought!

We also tried the Nature's Recipe Chicken with Beef Recipe in Broth.
Nature's Recipe Chicken with Beef Recipe in Broth Canned Cat Food

I loved that this came in little plastic tubs with peel-off labels instead of cans. I don't really know why, but I really prefer plastic containers! Most of my cats loved these, except Jasper, who is basically the pickiest cat ever. He loved the broth, but not the actual food. I wonder if it was a matter of texture, since this is like shredded meat, and he's used to either pate or chunks? Who knows, cats are weird. (Especially Jas. He's my "special snowflake".)

Last but not least, we received the Nature's Variety Instinct Grain-Free Duck Meal and Turkey Meal Dry Cat Food:

Nature's Variety Instinct Grain-Free Duck Meal and Turkey Meal Dry Cat Food

I got a free sample of this a while back, and my cats LOVED it, so I was thrilled to see that carried this brand so I could get a bigger bag! I went with the 2.2 lb size. This food is totally free of artificial flavors or colors, and has no chemical preservatives. All of my cats seemed to love devouring this, and they're picky about their dried food!

Huge thanks to for hooking up my little cat family with all of this food! You can find them on Facebook and Twitter, plus their website (obviously) and the Pinterest account I linked above!

Oh my gosh. The gourmet 8-pack would totally get confused for the canned chicken or tuna fish I make sandwiches for. How disgusting would that be?
I loved the picture of all the cats chowing down. It made me want to scoop up an armful of cats and snuggle the crap out of them!
