Opinions Needed! Blue or Beige?

Okay, blog friends, I need your help!

I'm on a mission to drastically cut down the number of dresses I have sitting around waiting to be altered! Right now, I'm focusing on this one:

It doesn't need a ton of work, just a few little changes in length and fit, so it should be pretty easy. But here's what I need some help on: The COLOR! I feel like the beige is way too close to my skin tone, and it makes me look washed out. However, since it is beigey, that also makes it hard to dye it to a great color.

I had about half a bottle of turquoise dye left over from a past project, so I chopped a little piece of fabric from the bottom of the skirt (which I knew I'd be cutting off anyway) to see how it would pick up the dye. Here's how it turned out:

I don't know. It's not the greatest blue-green color ever... but I think it might be better than the original beige. What do you guys think? Go blue(-ish green?) or keep it the color it is? Let me know!

Honestly, the beige is pretty, but you're right; you kind of get lost in the color and dress.

I can't really say much about the dyed color either cause I can't really tell exactly what it would look like.

Personal opinion: Go for broke and dye that puppy! :) If it doesn't work out, at least you'll have tried.

I have to agree with Kayla, I really like that beige, too, but I can see what you mean about it being so close to your skin tone. I would dye it!! From what I can see of that blue color, it is pretty, so go for it!!

That dress is so pretty, but I can definitely see your point about the color being way too close to your skin color. The dyed piece of fabric looks better than what you are starting with, so even if it doesn't come out absolutely perfectly, at least you will have made it a dress with a little more color going on than it originally had. Good luck!

I think I'd dye it! It really is close to your skin tone and washes out your prettiness :)

Definitely dye it! It looks so pretty in that bluish green color and you are correct the beige tends to look drab next to your complexion. It is a very pretty dress and would be a shame to just not wear it!!

I think I'd try dying as well...its pretty, but definitely very close to your skin tone...or maybe even adding a cardigan and belt might break it up a bit more without the need to dye?

I say go for the dye.
