I'm moving back to Orlando the end of this summer.
I've been saying all of this year that I really hoped to move back this fall or winter, but I was never 100% sure I could make it happen. But now an old friend that I used to work with at Dixie Stampede decided that she'd love to move there, too, and plans came together pretty quickly. I'm nervous, but excited! And I have SO MUCH TO DO before then! Eep!
The awesome thing is, for those of you who have been visiting this blog for the Orlando/Disney posts, I'll now be able to write about moving/working there with a fresh perspective. And there's going to be a TON of posts about it!
I've been trying to kind of catch up on Orlando news now that I'm heading back, and so far, there are a few things I've learned are coming soon that I'm excited about:
- It was announced yesterday that Universal is adding Diagon Alley to its Harry Potter area in 2014. HELLZ YEAH! I haven't even been to the Wizarding World at ALL yet, so this is pretty rad news.
- Orlando is finally getting a light rail system! The first leg is supposed to open in 2014, and then expand from there. This is awesome news not only because I hate driving, but because it has to mean less traffic on I-4.
- I'm going to let the Daily City's tweet tell you the third one:
I've always thought it was a little silly that there was no Trader Joes in the Orlando area. (We do have Whole Foods, but still.)
In kind of related (but not) news, my TV died last Friday. I've had it since I was 19 or 20, so it's had a nice long life, but ugh! Do I go pick up a super cheap one to get through the next few months or not even bother?
I'll try to keep you all in the loop as far as updates go, but I wanted to at least share the news! And if you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen that I said a new giveaway would be up today. Still working on that post, so hang tight! But there's also a Warner Bros blu-ray giveaway going on, so be sure to scroll down to that one!
