What's in your bedside drawer?

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Bedsider.org.

Now that I'm in my early 30s, it's crazy to see tons of Facebook posts from friends that I grew up with announcing that they're pregnant, often with a second or third child. I'm pretty sure that the whole having kids thing isn't for me, but I'm always kind of curious how many of those people that I see posting baby pics once thought the same thing. In fact, my family recently found out that my newly 18 year old niece is pregnant. It's crazy to think about how quickly someone's entire life path can change.

I was contacted by a website called Bedsider.org and asked to help spread the word about their site, which is focused on helping women prevent unplanned pregnancy. To quote their about page, "Babies are great…when you’re ready for them. We think in the meantime women should have the right to a healthy, happy sex life without having to worry about unplanned pregnancy." Word! The site is aimed at women ages 18-29, but I feel like it could be useful for anyone that's sexually active (or is preparing to be). They have a snazzy "method explorer" that lets you research and compare different methods of birth control, as well as all kinds of informative articles. (My favorite article title was "Um, can I get pregnant if...?") Overall, I love that it's an informative site with no bias towards any particular method.

Plus, they have a healthy sense of humor.

Right now, Bedsider is holding a fun contest via Pinterest! You can win gift cards to places like Amazon or Apple by pinning items you keep in your bedside drawer. Easy and fun! Here's the info on how to enter:

  • Create your own Pinterest board titled, “What’s in My Bedsider Drawer?”
  • Pin at least 5 additional images to represent your ideal bedside drawer. Tag each pin with the hashtag, #BedsideDrawer.

I've been checking out some of the entries, and it's kind of fun to see what other people like to keep in arm's reach! It also makes me wonder what the items we choose to keep close say about us. I don't have a drawer on my nightstand, but it pretty much always contains a book or three, lotion, lip balm and a scented candle. (Sorry, but you're going to at least have to buy me dinner first if you want to know the more personal items!)

I've almost finished my entry, fingers crossed I win something! (If you enter and win, totally let me know!)

Every girl has that bedside drawer that holds the bedroom essentials: their Kindle, a pair of reading glasses, sexy lingerie. – whatever fits their personality. No matter what your drawer says about you, there’s birth control that will fit right in. Find the best method for your routine and style at Bedsider.org.
