Who knew I had an oven? Getting my cook on with Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust (and a Giveaway!)

As most of you probably know, I do not spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Despite all of the delicious-looking recipes pinned to my "Tasty Things" board in Pinterest, it's rare that I actually eat anything that require more than a few minutes to put together.

When I got the chance to try out the new Artisan Pizza Crust from Pillsbury, though, my interest was sparked. I love pizza (like... a lot), but it's rare that I find a frozen pizza that really appeals to me. Either I'm not into the combination of toppings, or the crust is too thick, too thin, or just plain gross. I even recently tried out an idea for pizza croissants that I came across on Pinterest, but that just ended in disaster. Maybe I'd have better luck with a pizza crust dough?

I checked out the Farmer's Market Pizza Ideas from Pillsbury for inspiration, and found recipes including taco pizza, Philly cheesesteak pizza, and a Greek appetizer flatbread. (Yep, you can use this for things other than pizza! Who knew?) I also checked out their pizza crust FAQ, because let's face it, I need all the help I can get. One handy tip I picked up there is that baking the dough for a while before adding the toppings will make it crispier. OMG, all of the learning that is happening! THEN I saw the FAQ about how to make stuffed crust pizza, and I was totally sold on what to do with my tube-o-dough. Challenge Accepted!

Although I had great intentions after looking through so many fun recipes, I decided to stick with a classic (ie I got lazy and ended up mostly using ingredients I already had on hand) and did pepperoni and cheese!

I tried to take a pic of all of the gathered ingredients. I got this instead.

When you pop it out of the can, the crust is rolled up just like most canned dough. It was actually a little smaller than I expected!

Stuffed crust, baby!

The finished product! I got it a tiny bit too dark, but otherwise it was pretty tasty! All you have to do is bake the dough for about 8 minutes, then add toppings and put it back in the oven for about 6-10 more minutes. Easy!
