We're back! Let's carry on with my favorites from Day 1 of New York Fashion Week, and move on to Day 2! (Squee!)
When I saw that Tadashi Shoji was the next show on my list to look through, I knew that I should probably just wrap up the first post and start a fresh one, because there's always a lot to talk about from those shows!
If Spring was a dress, this would be it.
I had to zoom in on this dress to check out the amazing neckline - I suggest you do the same! It's so great! I really wish style.com had details photos for this show!
I could keep posting image after image here, but let's just summarize: I want to own ALL of the Tadashi Shoji dresses, please!
Continuing the theme of pretty dresses, the Tanya Taylor collection was a pleasant surprise! I don't think this designer was even on my radar, but her playful use of color and fun, flirty shapes are right up my alley. The fact that many pieces were hand painted is icing.
I love almost everything about this Nicole Miller collection. I can't even explain it, which is rare for me. I'm just going to post a few favorites and let them speak.
I love the shoes and the styling and the proportions and the way she mixed prints. The Versailles inspiration is clear without being over the top, which is exactly how I like a theme. Ohhh, how I wish there were detail photos from this show!
The trend towards collections featuring a lot of black and white continues, along with pale shades like blush pink, powder blue and beige all popping up frequently. There's also a lot of 90s inspiration going on. Is it just me, or is it way too soon for 90s to be retro? Thanks for making me feel old, fashion!
Whew! I am now officially caught up on looking at shows from the first two days! I have to admit - there aren't any designers showing today that I'm super psyched about, but I'm sure there will be something worth talking about!
