Hill's Science Diet Gourmet Cat Food Review and Huge Giveaway! #HillsPet

Feeding my cats sounds simple in theory: I usually feed them first thing in the morning when I wake up and then again in the evening, leaving out a bit of dry food for them to snack on during the day. The less simple part is that if I'm not awake at a time that they deem acceptable, they're totally up in my face doing that whole "I'm totally not snuggling on you because I'm hungry! I just think you're great!" thing. (Psst, cats! I totally see through that!)

Hill's Science Diet sent me a selection of their wet food, dry food and treats to try out. Their range of foods is created to give you a bunch of options to pick from that will all work together to offer balanced nutrition for your cats.

We got a variety of canned wet food flavors to try, including tender tuna and tender chicken dinners.

Sorry, I'm still yet to figure out a way to photograph cat food in a way that makes it look appetizing to humans!

And just in case you're wondering, this is what happens if it takes me more than about ten seconds to take a photo of cat food for a review! EVERY time! You'd think that I would have learned to hide in a room with no cats for photos, but I never learn!

Pardon the blurriness of the above pic, there was a bit of "ARRGH, Sam, I am trying to photograph this!" going on. There's a great variety of wet food flavors available from Hill's Science Diet beyond the ones pictured above - 28 in total! I think the one that I most want to pick up next is the Adult Homestyle Chicken Supper. It just plain looks good, even to me!

Dry food from Hill's has also been a HUGE hit in my house. (We tried the Adult Grain Free cat food) Want proof? This is what happened when I left the bag sitting on the kitchen table after we first tried it:

Going to have to tuck this bag away in a less reachable spot!

There's a feature of the Hill's dry food bags that I am in love with - the top closes with velcro! I've never seen that on other cat foods, just the bags that you either tear open or those with a sliding zipper top. Pretty cool! I also love that chicken is the main ingredient.

Last but not least (especially in the opinion of my cats), treats!

Loved the little heart shapes! These treats are quite crunchy, similar in texture to dry food. They're a little tough to break into smaller pieces for a kitten or older cat, but all of my adult cats loved them. Chicken treats were the fan favorite, but the salmon flavor didn't last long, either! Like the dry food, the main ingredient in these is chicken or salmon, and they also contain vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Score!

Hill's is sponsoring a seriously awesome giveaway where I get to hook up 20 of you  (Yes, you read that right! 20!) with a prize package that includes the following:

I have a Maine Coon Cat, her name is Missy, and she is the orneriest cat I've ever had. She thinks because she's pretty that should excuse her behavior. :)

I'd love to try the cans. We have two adopted kittens, Lenny and Squiggy, who are plain ol' gray tabbies--until you get to know them. Then they are hyper lunatics. Probably serial killers :) {LOVE}

I've been an animal lover since I was a child and have started my own dog rescue. I have five dogs of my own (all rescued Treeing Walker Coonhounds) and three cats (all strays that we couldn't find the owners for) and would have more if I could. Winning this prize pack would be a real godsend with all our furbabies!

I rarely give my cat wet food BUT I just heard that it can reduce the chance of them getting urinary tract problems like stones so I am going to start incorporating some wet. So I'd love to try the canned food!
