Zubie: Driving Peace of Mind

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Zubie for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

One of the top things on my "must do before moving back to Orlando" list is to get my car in great shape. It's in good condition for being 10 years old, but there are a lot of small things that I need to pay more attention to before setting off to drive 1,000 miles across the country with a car full of cats and almost everything I own. (I'm totally a "drive around with the gas light on half the time" person, and I'm a little scared to look at the sticker that tells me how long it's been since my last oil change.) I know I should be better at keeping up with that stuff, but it always feels like too much of a hassle and I put it off. (Plus - totally not a fun thing to spend money on!)

I've been reading up on a service called Zubie that I was contacted about blogging about. Basically, they send you a device that plugs into your car and does handy things like monitor your engine health and battery levels, and tells you what the error/"check engine" messages you're getting mean. My favorite part is that it will even give you an estimate for what the repair should cost if somethings wrong - awesome info to be armed with when you go to the garage!

It also has location services you can use, which could come in handy if you're on a road trip with other cars and want to keep track of each other, or if you have new to driving teenagers that you want to monitor. (It can also provide feedback about things like sudden acceleration and hard braking, so you can know if they're being unsafe on the road!) Given all of the crazy winter weather we've had this year, I thought that the feature that can let someone know when you've made it to work/home would be awesome for eliminating some worry!

You can order today with code SAVE20FEB and SAVE 20% on your Zubie key plus one year of service. (Offer good through March 31, 2014. Shipping charges apply.) I think it would be an awesome gift for a new driver, someone about to go on a road trip, a Valentine's gift for your partner who always seems to have car problems, or a fun new gadget for your tech-loving friend who loves trying out the newest thing.

This sounds like such a wonderful product! I don't know as much about my car as I should, and this would be such a help. I really like the estimated repair cost feature as I've had some shocks on that front.
