Yep, another post about my New Orleans trip! I thought I'd share a few pics from Jackson Square and the St. Louis Cathedral. My phone's camera was not loving the rain (did I mention it rained almost the whole time I was wandering the French Quarter?), so pardon the fuzziness!
An interesting juxtaposition of war and peace.
I wish I had a photo of the interior of the cathedral that did it justice. It's a lovely place to slip into for a few quiet minutes.
The accompanying gift shop is surprisingly tiny!
All around Jackson Square you'll see musicians, artists, street performers and fortune tellers. A lot of them had packed up due to the rain when I was there, but this display of paintings was still drawing shoppers.
Pirate's Alley runs alongside the side of the cathedral, and contains some historic bars and the Faulkner House book shop, which resides in the building where Faulkner lived while writing some of his early works. Loved the look of these bikes right across from the shop!
Also spotted in Pirate's Alley. Only in New Orleans!
I think I only have one NOLA post to go (plus one about the trip home). Hooray for catching up!
